How persistence leads to success

The young director S.S who didn't have enough money at that time believed in the scenario he wrote. He went to the first producer and showed him the scenario but the producer told him that he is not qualified to be a scenario writer or a director.

The man didn't gave up and he went to the second producer who also told him that he is not talented. The man went to five different producers and for some reason they all said the same thing;that he is not qualified to be a director or a scenario writer.

Lets stop at this point, what would you have done if you were in the shoes of that young director S.S. You might have said that you are not lucky or that life is unfair right?

And this is exactly what S.S never did! The man decided to meet all the producers he can reach until he got fifty rejections from fifty different producers!!

Those people didn't just reject him but they also tried to convince him that his case is hopeless and that he will never make it.

The man was very persistent. He refused to believe them and just like every other successful person the man proved all of those who rejected him wrong.

He was Silvester Stallone

It was part one of the "Rocky" Series which turned out to be extreemly successful!!

Persistence, rejection and success

There are some extreemly important facts that you should have learned from this story, here they are:

• Rejections never mean that you are bad: Stallone was trying to promote a great scenario yet 50 different producers rejected it. Some people think that being rejected means that they are incompetent but that's a false belief. Every successful person got rejected more than once before he managed to became the successful person you know today
• All experts can be wrong: Some people are persistent enough to withstand rejections when they come from close people but when an expert or two tells them that they are wrong they lose hope instantly. Stallone didn't get rejected by 50 taxi drivers but he was rejected by fifty producers who were experts in the film industry and yet he proved them all wrong! • Nothing on earth can stop a persistent person: Even if the Rocky scenario was bad and even if Stallone wasn't talented he would have still succeeded, not because his bad scenario would have became popular but because he would have kept trying until he managed to make it a great one. There is no force on earth that can prevent a persistent person from reaching his goals

How lack of persistence lead to failure

Now compare this to what most people do. As soon as they face a rejection or two they quit trying, feel helpless and give up on their dreams.

The difference between Stallone and an ordinary person who never succeeded in his life is the lack of persistence. While the first kept trying until he forced the world to believe in him the second gave up after the first few rejections.

When i started 2knowmyself i got numerous rejections from almost everyone i knew. Starting from discouraging words going through sarcastic comments and up till gossiping about me in a bad way.

I felt bad, just like any other human, but i decided to be persistent and to keep going. Today, i am a dot com millionaire because of that site that everyone rejected earlier.

Had i believed them i would have been another helpless person living on this planet who believes in luck or the unfairness of life. (see also How to realize your dreams)

Yes right now you might not be that lucky or life might not be treating you nicely but you can force it to be fair to you by doing one thing:

Being persistent
Don't ever give up, ever
